Pilgrimage to the Oratory of St. Joseph

Date: March 21-23
Location: Montreal

Detailed pilgrimage program was emailed to animators for distribution within their circles.

Sponsoring the Relics of Saint Ulma Family

Domestic Church was asked to fund the Reliquary, which will be displayed at the altar of Holy Family in St. Eugene de Mazenod Church in Brampton. The alter of the Holy Family was sponsored by DC shortly after the Church was consecrated.

There is a Devotion to Holy Family on each first Tuesday of the month at St Eugene Church. Everyone is invited and encouraged to take part in those devotions or send their intentions to be added to prayers each month.

It was proposed to fund a reliquary as a gift from DC for the 35th anniversary of our movement in Canada.

The mass will take place on March 9th, 2025 at St. Eugene de Mazenod church in Brampton at 12:30. The mass will be in Polish.

Originally we were hesitant to come to the retreat because we were tired and worried that staying for a weekend in a confined space with a five year old active boy would be challenging. But in fact we had a great time and even rested a bit. Our son was very happy during the retreat, playing with all the kids around the facility, so that we could spend a lot of time in formation and conversations. It was very uplifting for us to see so many families living their faith and to share our faith between each other. The atmosphere was very friendly and it felt like one big family.

Evangelization Retreats

Evangelization is the first step of any real faith journey.  We must experience the reality of who Christ is, who we are, and what His love for us is capable of doing before we can make any real progress.  And, since Domestic Church provides for this journey to be undertaken in union with our spouses, we must experience Christ anew, together, before we can begin to grow together toward sainthood.  Come, receive the Good News, and stir up the grace of your Sacrament!  Sacramentally married couples interested in joining Domestic Church do so by attending an Evangelization Retreat as an introduction to formation. 

OASIS Family Retreats

Each year Domestic Church provides multiple locations in Canada for longer family retreats.  Often, we fall into the trap of believing that the constant demands of our spouses and children and the chaos and "earthy-ness" of family life are obstacles to our holiness and spiritual growth.  Here, however, they are experienced as the very place where we truly find ourselves and experience the powerful presence of God at work within us a "domestic church".  Unlike many of our family vacation experiences, we come home from these retreats feeling truly rested, stronger, joyful, and energized.  There are 3 ascending levels of Oasis Retreats, and these are for families already in Domestic Church formation.

ORFA Retreats

OASIS retreats for family animators. The goal of a retreat is to learn how to be better animators of your family and circle and how to be better servant leaders in your family and circle. The main themes include the call of discipleship, the call to holiness in marriage, developing the virtues of servant leadership as parents, and learning how they apply to the role of the animator of the circle. Couples will also study the DC Rules and Bylaws to deepen their understanding of the charisms and methods of the movement. The fruit of this retreat is UNITY in your family and circle.
